This was a fun project.
The brief: to customise a standard, factory delivered, shiny, santorini black Land Rover Defender 90, with the intention of ‘pimping’ it out, was a ‘no limits’ challenge.
I had seen luxury cars in matte black overseas but not on an off-road vehicle. I loved the idea of playing with the paradox.
Defender’s have always had a cult following around the world. Only 25,000 were handmade in the UK every year.
Their military, tough look is what held their held their appeal, so the idea of combining this with all the comforts of a new car, was an exciting challenge.
A matte black paint job, a moc croc interior, customised light lenses and matt’s, resulted in a radical transformation.
