TALKING TYPE
Typography as psychological terrain.
The Talking Type series uses language and light to explore tension, perception, and emotional charge through single-word interventions. Each work shifts meaning through spacing, form, illumination, and emphasis.
Talking Type Series I (2018), words become unstable, carrying tones of resistance, concealment, and rupture:
secret becomes partially withheld.
dis rupt fractures language through separation.
SUBVERT amplifies confrontation and defiance.
Talking Type Series II (2025), the charge turns inward.
Where the earlier works operated through disruption and external force, the newer works move toward reflection, restraint, and psychological tension:
UNsaid
now here / nowhere
OVERwrite
Meaning folds back on itself. Language doubles, fractures, and recalibrates. The work becomes quieter, but more exacting.
Across both series, typography functions not as decoration, but as spatial and psychological signal.
